Established in 1989, we were born from the partnership of NYK Line, one of the largest and oldest shipping companies in the world, and the Filipino-owned Transnational Diversified Group, a fast growing conglomerate consisting of more than thirty member companies.
Although we are a relatively young player in the shipmanning business, our company has carved a respectable niche in the maritime industry for its accomplishments in deploying quality seafarers which were duly recognized as evidenced by the numerous awards it has received from the Philippine government over the years.
We have a very strong and viable Human Resource Development Program and Cadetship Training Program CTP) which produce our own pool of well-trained and competent officers who are home-grown by our corporate values of INTEGRITY, INNOVATION, and INTENSITY as well as EXCELLENCE, COMMUNITY, STEWARDSHIP and FAIRNESS.
In 2005, we took a bigger step in the development of our future officers when we initiated the establishment of the NYK-TDG Maritime Academy (NTMA) in Canlubang, Laguna. Hundreds of new graduates have since joined NYK-FIL’s pool of marine officers and engineers from the Academy since its pioneer Class of 2011.
We hold office in Intramuros in the City of Manila and maintain a satellite office in Iloilo City in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines.

We are an organization where quality is a way of life for every employee, working hand-in-hand to provide technically competent, professional, well-disciplined, loyal, hardworking and adaptable seafarers to NYK Line. We employ a “No Training, No Deployment” Policy to ensure that every seafarer possesses the technical competence and readiness prior being sent onboard. Quality crew is always our mission. The way we do things has been recognized by the numerous awards received from the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) which regulates the deployment of Filipino seafarers. To always exceed customer satisfaction, we find it best to totally subject our entire operations to internationally accepted quality standards.
NYK-FIL was among the very few manning companies in the country that obtained ISO Certification for both its manning and training services in 1996 and 1997 respectively. Today we are ISO 9001:2008 certified.
In 2005, we made history when we received the prestigious Philippine Quality Award (PQA), the Philippines’ highest level of national recognition for exemplary organization performance. We specifically earned the PQA Level III (Recognition for Mastery in Quality Management), becoming the first recipient in the ship manning industry, the entire maritime sector and service industry.
Our company was also conferred the International Asia Pacific Quality Award (IAPQA) “Best of Class Distinction” in 2006 and 2008.
